Affirmations are short, powerful statements that help you reprogram your Subconscious Mind by reinforcing positive beliefs about yourself and your life. They work by replacing limiting thoughts and patterns with empowering ones. They train your mind to focus on what you want instead of what you fear or lack.
Affirmations use repetition and emotional energy to influence your Subconscious Mind. When spoken, written, or visualized regularly they:
* Shift your self-image
*Rewire neural pathways through neuroplasticity
*Activate the Reticular Activating System, which filters experiences to match your dominant thoughts and beliefs
* Raise your vibration to align with what you desire
Affirmations should be positive and in the present tense. They shouldn’t be worded that something is going to happen in the future. Saying that something is going to happen later means that it will always be later, if at all.
They should focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. Your subconscious mind doesn’t register negatives like “don’t” or “not”.
Affirmations should be believable, yet still expansive. If your affirmation feels too unrealistic your subconscious may reject it. You can start your affirmations with statements like “I am open to_____”, I allow______”, “I am in the process of _______” or “I am becoming _________.”
It is good to include emotion and sensory detail. When you engage feeling, it gives energy to the affirmation.
